News gathering on field is no longer new to me because when I was still at the Freeman Newspaper I used to go on field always. What seems to be more interesting in my field assignments in DYAB is that, I don't have to spend my own money to commute. With just a call to the drivers and an approval from our desk editor, i can now go on field without any hassle.
I keep on wondering every time I am on board the ABS-CBN vehicle, people seems to pay attention always whenever we pass by. It made me ask my self, are we superstars? People finds time to nod and smile at me. Well, maybe the prestige that the company have acquired throughout the years may be one of the reason why people pay attention to us. Sometimes I feel so thankful of having that prestige because I can easily get the people's support and attention whenever I needed them. But sometimes the popularity of the network does not only brings good to me but as well as headaches. Headaches because all eyes are on me. I must be careful to what I say and do because any bad comment or things that I will be doing will always reflect to the identity that I am bringing. I should not ruin the reputation of the network with just a single mistake committed by me that is why I always have to be careful to the things I so and the words I say.
I have always put in my mind from the day that I started my duty at DYAB, I should not be too proud that I am part of the station to the extent that I will violate certain rules. No matter what DYAB has brought into my life must remain to be a debt of gratitude to the people who made that station to what it is right now.
